Kogi State has lost one of its prominent political figures as Chief Patrick Adaba, a former Deputy Governor, has passed away. A close family source disclosed the heartbreaking news to Parrot Newspaper, revealing that the elder statesman succumbed to a prolonged illness.
Born in 1946, Chief Adaba lived a life of service, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the development of Kogi State. His journey began with education, where he distinguished himself as a scholar. After his secondary school education, he proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science, alongside a combined Graduate Certificate of Education in 1971.
Over the years, Chief Adaba built a reputable career, serving in different capacities before being entrusted with key roles in governance. His brilliance and loyalty earned him an appointment as Secretary to the State Government during Prince Abubakar Audu’s first tenure as Governor of Kogi State.

His political journey peaked in 2003, when he was elected Deputy Governor on a joint ticket with Prince Abubakar Audu, marking a return to Lugard House. In that role, he played a significant part in shaping policies and championing initiatives aimed at the growth of the state.
