Troops Nab Notorious Gunrunner in Kaduna Sting Operation
Kaduna, March 11, 2025 – Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have apprehended a notorious gunrunner and suspected kidnapper, Blessed Paul, in Garaje Community, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Paul, aged 22, had been on the wanted list of security agencies for his alleged involvement in the illegal arms trade and kidnapping operations across the region. According to intelligence sources, he had previously fled to Abuja to evade arrest but was lured back into the state under a carefully orchestrated sting operation.
The operation, carried out under Operation Lafiyan Jama’a, was designed to deceive the suspect into thinking he was selling an AK-47 rifle for ₦1.5 million. Unaware that he was walking into a trap, Paul agreed to meet with supposed buyers at a prearranged location in Garaje.
Upon his arrival, troops posing as buyers swiftly apprehended him. A search of the suspect led to the recovery of:
One AK-47 rifle
One AK-47 magazine
Two rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition

Paul is currently in military custody, where he is said to be providing intelligence that could aid further crackdowns on criminal syndicates in the region.
Security analysts believe his arrest is a major breakthrough in ongoing efforts to curb illegal arms circulation and violent crimes in Kaduna and neighboring states. The military has vowed to sustain operations against criminal elements threatening peace and stability.
Residents of Garaje and surrounding areas have commended the troops for their swift action, expressing hope that such operations will continue to make communities safer.
