Cynthia Akor Rescue: Military, Police Free Naval Officer in Abuja Kidnapping

Naval officer Cynthia Akor has been rescued in a joint military and police operation after being kidnapped in Abuja. The Cynthia Akor rescue mission involved the Nigerian military, the FCT Anti-Kidnapping Unit, DSS, hunters, and local vigilantes, who tracked the abductors to Nasarawa State and successfully freed the victims.

Cynthia Akor was kidnapped alongside two civilians at Mamman Vatsa Estate gate, Mpape Road, Abuja, around 7:34 pm on Friday. Shortly after the attack, the kidnappers demanded a ₦500 million ransom for her release and ₦200 million each for the other victims.

Security forces launched an intelligence-driven operation between 2 am and 5:30 am on Sunday, raiding criminal hideouts in Anguwan Mu’azu and Yelwa Hills, Nasarawa State. The operation led to the Cynthia Akor rescue, with all victims recovered safely.

Four Suspects Arrested in Abuja Kidnapping Case

During the raid, security operatives arrested four suspects linked to the Abuja kidnapping. Authorities also recovered ₦3.5 million, believed to be ransom money from previous abductions. The FCT Anti-Kidnapping Unit confirmed that all victims are in stable condition and are receiving medical attention at the Nigerian Army Clinic, Abuja.
