JAMB Technical Glitches: Ohanaeze Threatens Lawsuit, Demands 300 Scores for South-East Candidates, Rejects Resit Exam
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide is up in arms after JAMB announced that students affected by result errors in the South-East and Lagos will have to retake their exams.
JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, admitted the mix-up and said candidates from 157 centers will rewrite the tests starting May 16, 2025. But the Youth Council isn’t having it.
“This is outright unfair,” fumes Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, President of the group. “Why should students suffer for JAMB’s own mistakes? These kids have already been through enough stress—now they’re being told to start all over again?”
He didn’t stop there. “And who’s footing the bill? Parents who are already struggling to make ends meet? What about the risks of traveling in a country where security is a major concern?”
The Council isn’t just complaining—they’re making demands. “JAMB should automatically award these students a score of 300,” Okwu insists. “Igbos are brilliant—many could’ve scored even higher if not for this mess. This feels like a deliberate attempt to deny our people educational opportunities.”

And if JAMB doesn’t listen? “We’ll see them in court,” he warns. “No amount of apologies will fix this.”
