BREAKING: Angolan Businessman Excretes 120 Cocaine Wraps at Kano Airport

Kano, Nigeria – Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 42-year-old Angolan businessman, Mbala Abuba, for attempting to smuggle cocaine to Istanbul, Turkey.

Abuba was intercepted on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport while boarding an Egypt Air flight to Istanbul via Cairo. A body scan confirmed he had ingested illicit drugs, leading to his detention under observation. He later excreted 120 wraps of cocaine, weighing 1.829 kilograms, in seven rounds.

In a related operation, NDLEA operatives thwarted an attempt by an auto spare parts dealer, Okeke Igwe, to smuggle 1.10kg of cocaine concealed in vehicle propellers to Angola through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
