Harvard is a joke, teaches h@te and stup*dity, and should no longer receive federal funds – Trump
In a thunderous swipe at one of America’s oldest and most revered academic institutions, U.S. President Donald Trump has branded Harvard University a “joke” that teaches “hate and stupidity,” insisting it should be stripped of all federal funding.
The explosive statement, posted on Trump’s Truth Social account, marks a sharp escalation in his ongoing crusade against elite universities, which he accuses of fostering ideological extremism and stifling intellectual freedom. Harvard, he says, is no longer a beacon of knowledge—but a breeding ground for division.
“Harvard is a JOKE, teaches Hate and Stupidity, and should no longer receive Federal Funds,” Trump wrote in a blistering post that quickly set off a political firestorm.
He didn’t stop there. Trump further claimed the Ivy League powerhouse had “fallen from grace,” and no longer deserves to be listed among the world’s great centers of learning. “Harvard can no longer be considered even a decent place of learning,” he declared. “It’s a disgrace to education and an insult to the American taxpayer.”

The former president’s verbal assault is part of a larger ideological battle he’s been waging against what he calls “liberal indoctrination” in higher education. Harvard, for its part, has been among the few elite institutions to openly push back against attempts by Trump-aligned lawmakers to increase federal oversight of academic curricula.
But Trump’s latest broadside seems to go beyond policy disagreement—it’s personal, political, and profoundly polarizing.
Critics argue that the rhetoric is dangerously inflammatory, while Trump supporters say he’s finally calling out an elite system that has operated for too long without accountability.
As the 2027 election season begins to simmer, Trump’s war with Harvard signals something deeper: a high-stakes cultural clash between populist conservatism and institutional liberalism. And if his message gains traction, the fallout may not stop at Harvard’s gates.
