Kremlin Reacts to Trump’s Angry Statement on Putin
Trump’s Fury Over Putin’s Ukraine Plans
The Kremlin has responded to US President Donald Trump’s latest remarks expressing frustration over Russian President Vladimir Putin’s approach to Ukraine. Trump, known for his blunt rhetoric, stated he was “very angry” and “pissed off” at Putin’s stance on placing Ukraine under a “temporary administration” and sidelining Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky while peace negotiations unfold.
Kremlin’s Measured Response
Reacting to these comments, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov sought to downplay the intensity of Trump’s statements. Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, Peskov clarified that some of the wording had been paraphrased rather than quoted directly. He acknowledged that multiple statements had been made, emphasizing that context matters in such diplomatic exchanges.
Russia’s Diplomatic Balancing Act
Despite Trump’s vocal criticism, Moscow signaled its continued engagement with Washington. Peskov stressed that Russia remains committed to rebuilding US-Russia relations, which, according to him, suffered severe setbacks under the previous US administration.
> “We continue to work with the American side, first of all, on building our bilateral relations, which suffered enormous damage during the previous administration,” Peskov stated during the conference call.

He also hinted at ongoing diplomatic efforts regarding the Ukraine crisis but stopped short of disclosing concrete details.
> “We are also working on implementing some ideas related to the Ukrainian settlement. The work is underway, so far there are no specifics that we would have to inform you about.”
Will Trump and Putin Speak Soon?
As speculation swirls over a possible high-level dialogue between the two leaders, Peskov addressed the question of a direct call between Trump and Putin. He stated that, as of now, no such conversation is scheduled but did not rule out a swift arrangement if deemed necessary.
> “If necessary, such a call can be organized very promptly,” Peskov confirmed.
What This Means for US-Russia Relations
The sharp rhetoric from Trump and Moscow’s restrained response underscore the delicate balance in US-Russia ties. While Trump’s statements suggest a harder stance on Putin’s actions in Ukraine, the Kremlin’s response appears more focused on sustaining diplomatic channels rather than escalating tensions. The coming weeks may reveal whether this latest war of words will lead to meaningful shifts in geopolitical strategy or remain a symbolic exchange of statements.
