Tensions Boil Over in Turkish Super Cup Clash
In a heated twist to the Turkish Super Cup saga, Fenerbahçe boss Jose Mourinho has been hit with a three-match ban after an unexpected and controversial moment with Galatasaray’s manager, Okan Buruk.
Following Fenerbahçe’s painful defeat to their fierce rivals, Mourinho stunned fans and officials alike by sneaking up behind Buruk and pinching his nose — an act that sent the Galatasaray coach sprawling to the ground.

Turkish FA Weighs Heavy Sanctions, Opts for Leniency
While the bizarre altercation initially sparked talks of a much harsher penalty, with the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) reportedly considering a suspension ranging from five to ten games, they ultimately settled for a lighter sentence.
Sources close to the TFF revealed that the decision factored in claims that Mourinho had been provoked by Buruk moments before the unsportsmanlike act. However, the incident still tarnishes the reputation of one of football’s most fiery personalities.
Mourinho’s Disciplinary Woes Continue in 2025
This marks Mourinho’s second major suspension this year. Back in February, the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager received a four-match ban after making racist remarks aimed at the Galatasaray bench during a heated league encounter.

Despite his illustrious career, Mourinho’s time in Turkey has been marred by controversy and confrontations, adding yet another chapter to his long history of touchline drama.
