My funeral needs to be at least a week long – Kanye West sparks alarm
Kanye West has once again left fans deeply unsettled — this time, not with his music or fashion, but with some grim thoughts about his own funeral.
The 47-year-old rapper, known for his headline-grabbing antics, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share an unusually detailed vision for his final send-off. In typical Ye fashion, the plans were as extravagant as they were concerning.
“My funeral needs to be at least a week long,” Kanye declared, imagining a marathon memorial stretching over seven days. “A 10-hour service every day so people can speak aaaall the way through,” he added, making it clear there’d be no time limits on tributes.

But it didn’t stop there. He went on to say, “It actually needs be nooo limit. Embalm me. Put me on display at my mama’s house and let people visit me. Charge people to come in and use the money to enrich all the blocks around.”
Yes, you read that right — Ye envisions turning his farewell into a community fundraiser, with his embalmed body as the centerpiece.
In a follow-up post, he added another unusual thought: “Funerals should be where people can talk as long as they want but also leave when they want.” A freestyle flow, even in mourning.
What truly rattled fans, though, was a cryptic line that seemed to hint at something darker. Kanye wrote, “Why do people be calling you to kill you I be like It doesn’t work that way.”

Understandably, this set off alarm bells. Fans quickly flooded the comments with words of concern and heartbreak. One person wrote, “Please stop. Continue tweeting but not about Ye passing. It hurts my soul to my soles.”
While Kanye’s online presence has always walked a fine line between provocative and perplexing, this latest episode has left many worried for his well-being, with some hoping these posts are just another controversial performance, not a cry for help.
