Police Uncover LASU Graduate’s Shallow Grave
By Parrot Newspaper
The Lagos State Police Command has made a breakthrough in the investigation of the tragic disappearance and murder of Adedamola Ogunbode, a recent graduate of Lagos State University (LASU). Following the arrest of the principal suspect, Olaoluwa Ajisomo, detectives have uncovered the location where the victim was buried.
Prime Suspect Apprehended
The police had been on the trail of Ajisomo, who was rumored to have fled to the Benin Republic. However, he was eventually arrested in the Alakuko area of Lagos on Monday morning. According to the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Chief Superintendent of Police Benjamin Hundeyin, Ajisomo played a direct role in the crime, including emptying the victim’s bank account.
“The principal suspect, Olaoluwa Ajisomo, was arrested yesterday (Monday) morning in the Alakuko area. He was the one who cleared the victim’s bank account through the victim’s mobile phone,” Hundeyin stated.
A Web of Crime Unraveled
The case took a shocking turn last Friday when the Lagos State Police Command announced the arrest of three other suspects, including a pastor, Whepetoji Sunday, who allegedly received ₦70,000 from the victim’s account. Another church member, Sheriff Adebayo, was accused of receiving ₦300,000.
Adding to the complexity of the case, police also detained Omolara Ajisomo, the mother of the prime suspect, for allegedly assisting her children, Teniola and Olaoluwa Ajisomo, in evading arrest. Reports indicate that each of them received ₦300,000 from Ogunbode’s account before fleeing.
Students Demand Justice
The gruesome nature of the crime has sparked outrage among students and the general public. The LASU Students’ Union had earlier threatened a statewide protest, prompting the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, to order the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the case.
To prevent possible retaliation, the police have also sealed off the church associated with the arrested pastor after intelligence reports suggested a planned arson attack.

Not Buried in Church Premises
Amid social media speculation that Ogunbode’s grave was within the church premises, the police clarified that the shallow grave was found elsewhere. However, details of the exact location remain undisclosed as investigations continue.
This case has once again highlighted the growing concern over ritual killings and financial crimes in Nigeria. The Lagos State Police Command has assured the public that all perpetrators will face the full wrath of the law.
