Buhari Relocates to Kaduna After Nearly Two Years in Daura
Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has moved to his residence in Kaduna after spending nearly two years in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State.
Buhari, who left office in May 2023, had been living a quiet life in Daura, staying away from active political engagements. His former aide, Bashir Ahmad, confirmed the relocation in a Facebook post, noting that the former leader focused on private matters while in Katsina.

The move to Kaduna was marked by high-profile visits. Vice President Kashim Shettima led a delegation that included Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, and other dignitaries such as current and former deputy governors of Katsina, a former Inspector General of Police, and ex-ministers.

Buhari previously disclosed that he rented out one of his two houses in Kaduna, an indication that his relocation was well-planned. His return to the state raises speculation about whether he intends to assume a more visible role in national affairs or maintain his low profile.
